ABOUT OUR SHOWThe 3rd Annual Little Washington Miniatures Painting Exhibition will take place from September 30th - October 24, 2011. It is open to all residents of North America 18 years old or older. All 2D media except photography, copier reproductions or computer generated images is acceptable. All artwork must be original. The show will take place at Ice House Gallery, which is located one block from the internationally acclaimed "Inn at Little Washington". The town of Washington, VA. is nestled at the foot of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, just a stone's throw from Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park. This historic town is a major tourist attraction and bustles with activity during the peak autumn leaf season. We have chosen this time for the show to maximize exposure to the public. Marilyn Milici has graciously consented to be this year's judge. Please read about her in our sidebar. Our first and second exhibitions have been very well received and we will continue to work towards making this show one of the premier miniatures exhibitions on the east coast. |
THIS YEAR'S JUDGEMARILYN MILICI Marilyn Milici, of Alexandria, Virginia, is an award-winning watercolor painter who paints a variety of subject matter in all sizes, but has a special fondness for the beauty and intricacy of miniatures. She has studied extensively at the Art League School and at numerous workshops with many of today's preeminent watercolor artists such as Charles Reid, Steven Quiller, Tony vanHasselt, and the like. An active member and former Board Member of the Art League, she serves on the selections committee and appreciates the difficulty jurors have in selecting one "best" piece. She is an artist member and former Vice President of the Virginia Watercolor Society, a long time board member of the Potomac Valley Watercolorists, where she serves as workshop chairman, and a member of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors, and Gravers Society of Washington. Marilyn has helped with jurying the MPSGS entries and is a receiver for their annual show. |

"I rec'd my package yesterday and wanted to write and thank you. The package was in excellent condition. I was so impressed with your professionalism in sending the price breakdown, buyers name, and the speed in which you returned the package, 'plus' including the check. Your correspondence has been excellent... always replying promptly with answers to questions. I do a number of miniature shows each year and would definitely give your show an A+. You're doing a great job! Thank you and I look forward to your show next year. Blessings, Ellen"
